Indian Hills, Iowa Western Compete at Division I Women's Golf National Tournament
COAL VALLEY, Ill. — Indian Hills and Iowa Western traveled east to compete in the NJCAA Division I Women's Golf National Championship at Oakwood Country Club. The Warriors and Reivers finished 12th and 14th, respectively, after the four-round tournament.
The Warriors were as high as ninth as a team before finishing the tournament with a team score of 180-over par. Midwest District champion Poppy Norcott led the way with a total score of 34-over par and finished 27th. Sofia Saavedra earned a top-half finish, placing 43rd after posting a tournament score of 46-over par. Taylor Pacheco finished just outside the top 50, tying for 51st.
Iowa Western finished 14th as a team, tallying a score of 203-over par. For a second straight year, Olivia Holyoak-Church led the Reivers and earned All-America honors. Holyoak-Church tied for 11th with a score of 26-over par, showing consistency by shooting 6-over par in three of her four rounds. Her performance earned Honorable Mention status on the All-American list.
Jennifer Cho was the next-highest Reiver on the individual leaderboard, tying for 49th with a score of 50-over par.
Daytona State (Fla.) claimed the team championship with a score of 69-over par, and Odessa's Napajira Luesattha won the individual crown with a score of 6-over par.
